Women in Film: On the eve of the25th Annual International Film Festival, AWC will host a panel of women in film, featuring Santa Barbara's own Ginger Sledge, line producer of locally shot and Oscar-winning film "Sideways;" Cass Warner Sperling, writer and director of award-winning "The Brothers Warner;" Lois Burwell, award-winning makeup designer who has worked with top film starts on 27 files including "Braveheart" and "Mission: Impossible."

The AWC-SB networking event allows women in communications to discuss their business interests and career goals. Members have gained business leads and referrals, explored joint ventures and partnering on projects, and shared cutting-edge information about their fields, which cover all aspects of communications industries. In addition, members are regularly polled with regard to their interests in future programs, and suggest speakers and panelists.
Representing the business and professional worlds of web design and communication, public information, publishing, editing, PR, broadcasting, filmmaking, and journalism as well as academia, the AWC-SB list is continually growing as the communication profession expands into the newer media.
